Tucked away within a lush polo estate in Dubai, Meliá Desert Palm is a luxury urban resort where wellness, personalised service and meaningful experiences come together. We are currently looking for a passionate and energetic Fitness Instructor to join our Recreation & Wellness team.

This role goes beyond the gym floor – we are looking for someone who can create genuine guest connections, deliver engaging wellness experiences and contribute to the overall lifestyle atmosphere of the resort. The Pool Maintenance Helper is responsible for the below tasks and others assigned by their departments as necessary.

• Diagnosis, repairs and maintenance of swimming pools, fountains, water systems, filter systems, pumps, heat pumps and related equipment.
• Maintain the proper chemical balance for the pools, fountains and portable water system
• Maintains the pH and  Chlorine values for good water quality
• Maintain all the pools and all water features using proper chemicals and cleaners as per Schedule
• Maintain the pool area including cleaning of the deck and other maintenance tasks
• Repairs and maintains electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Tests the chemical levels in swimming pools and other water systems and adjusts as needed.
• Fixing lights above and below water level
• Checking and repairing corrosion, cracks and leaks in the pools and fountains walls or floors
• Check water Quality parameters; pH, Chlorine, Total Alkalinity, Calcium Hardness, Cyanuric Acid and Total Dissolved Solids in by using digital test kit in pools and fountains  and keep the record daily
• Work closely with the Housekeeping department with regards to daily pool cleaning tasks
• Logging and reporting equipment faults or water quality problems to managers

Job Specifications:

• Minimum of 1-year experience in the same role
• High School Degree or similar
• General knowledge of proper pool cleaning and maintenance methods
• General knowledge of swimming pool chemicals and their properties
• Knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, painting and equipment repairs
• Ability to lift heavy equipment
• Ability to work with adverse weather condition
