Four Seasons Hotel Cairo at The First Residence

Four Seasons Hotel Cairo at The First Residence is seeking a talented and experienced Day Auditor who shares our passion for excellence and is enthusiastic about delivering an exceptional experience.

About the role

The day audit position is responsible for verifying and reporting hotel revenues, reviewing paperwork submitted to Accounting to document these revenues, and preparing and publishing a Daily Revenue report for internal use by Hotel Managers to review financial performance and forecast future business levels.

What You Will Do

• Maintain harmonious and professional relationship with co-workers and supervisors, in particular, maintain a solid rapport with Front Desk, Reservations, Food & Beverage, and other departments that turn in paperwork to Day Audit.
• Comply with and enforce Four Seasons’ Category One and Category Two Work Rules and Standards of Conduct as outlined in EmPact.
• Coordinate work with other functions within the Accounting Department, ensuring a seamless flow of paperwork to the Income Audit and, when necessary, other functions such as Payroll and A/R.
• Communicate any instances where paperwork is at variance with Internal Controls to the Income Auditor, Staff Accountant, and Assistant Director of Finance.
• Communicate shortcomings in paperwork back to the originating department.
• Assist in covering guest inquiries to the Accounting Department, including folio requests from guests, credit card inquiries from guests, as well as requests for information from other departments within the hotel.
• Collect/Audit paperwork from all revenue centers in the hotel, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Four Seasons’ Internal Controls and local hotel polices.
• Ensure that accurate room revenue is captured, recorded, and posted.
• Ensure that accurate F&B outlet revenue, Banquet Food and Beverage Revenue, and F&B Miscellaneous Revenue are fully captured, recorded, and posted.
• Monitor and record all house account meals and entertainment expenses, and report any non-compliance to the Assistant Director of Finance for follow-up with the hotel management.
• Balance income against the respective ledger balances in the PMS system (guest ledger, city ledger, and deposit ledger), and any discrepancies are corrected as identified and brought to the attention of the Assistant Director of Finance.
• Verify credit card settlements and transmissions to receipts in the bank, and outstanding balances are traced for future receipt, and ensure exceptions are investigated and anomalies are brought to the Director of Finance or Assistant Director of Finance’s attention.
• Update credit card reconciliations daily that agree to transmissions and receipts; where credit card numbers are stored electronically, no hard copy of the numbers should be retained on file.
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations to ensure balances agree with the outstanding credit card balance per the credit card reconciliations.
• Ensure post-departure allowances with all applicable backup are approved and signed per local policy and included in the SR-5.
