Mechanic

Position Summary

The Mechanic is responsible for performing routine and preventative maintenance on all property vehicles, including engineering trucks, shuttle vans, and electric carts. This role ensures vehicles and equipment are safe, operational, and maintained to brand standards. The Mechanic also manages maintenance inventory, documents daily operations and repairs, and supports the Engineering team in delivering smooth, reliable facility operations.

This is an island‑based role and requires working on a rostered stay‑on‑island schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance on property vehicles, including checking and topping up oil, fluids, tire pressure, tire wear, battery charging, and spark plug replacement.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on tools and equipment, ensuring proper cleaning, lubrication, and safe operation.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs for daily operations, inspections, safety checks, equipment malfunctions, and repair actions.
  • Manage maintenance inventory, track parts usage, and request replacement parts and supplies as required.
  • Follow all company safety, security, and maintenance procedures, including proper storage of flammable materials and prompt reporting of hazards or equipment issues.
  • Maintain a clean, professional appearance, protect company assets, and uphold confidentiality of proprietary information.
  • Communicate professionally with colleagues, assist team members, and support departmental goals.
  • Safely lift, carry, push, or pull objects up to 50 lbs; visually inspect tools and equipment; bend, twist, kneel, and work in varying physical conditions.
  • Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by Supervisors.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Certificate or Trade Qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Servicing, Heavy Machinery, or related field (preferred).
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, vehicle servicing, or facilities maintenance (hospitality, residential, or commercial experience advantageous).
