Head Housekeeper

As a Head Housekeeper at Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London, we expect from you:

• Oversee the day-to-day Housekeeping operation on the guest floors, ensuring smooth, efficient, and high-quality service delivery.
• Support Senior Housekeeping Management with key administrative duties, including rota preparation, raising purchase orders, and managing departmental costs.
• Uphold Mandarin Oriental’s quality standards, ensuring they are fully implemented, consistently maintained, and evident in every aspect of housekeeping operations.
• Drive on-the-job training and development initiatives, identifying learning needs, delivering coaching, and ensuring all colleagues adhere to established standards and procedures to provide an elevated guest experience.
• Drive effective people management, supporting recruitment initiatives, colleague reviews, and ongoing performance management.
• Ensure exceptional guest service at all times by monitoring quality levels, completing regular inspections, and consistently meeting and exceeding guest expectations.

As a Head Housekeeper you will be working on a rotating shift basis, Monday to Sunday, 39 hours a week. Shift patterns will vary from morning, evening, and night shifts (including weekends and bank holidays), so flexibility is required where applicable.

To be a successful Head Housekeeper candidate, you will have:

• Proven experience in rooms division leadership role within a luxury, ideally five-star, hotel environment.
• Strong people-leadership skills, with the ability to motivate, train, and develop a diverse team while maintaining a calm, professional approach under pressure.
• Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail, with a track record of managing large-scale operations to the highest standards.
• Solid operational competence, including experience in inventory control, cost management, and effective use of housekeeping systems and technology.
