About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental New York within the Engineering Department in New York the Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the overall operation and maintenance of equipment designated under the Management of Mandarin Oriental New York, including the day to day hotel operational and maintenance requirements.

As Maintenance Mechanic, you will responsible for the following duties:

1.       Provide operation and maintenance support to the Assistant Chief Engineer in the following:

• Execute Standard Operating Procedures developed by Engineering Department.
• Execute Policy and Procedures for engineering practice developed by Engineering Department.
• Execute preventive maintenance programs developed by the Engineering Department.
• Conduct day to day operation of various Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing and HVAC (Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioning) systems for the hotel.
• Conduct Inventory of material and spare parts used within the process of maintenance.
• Work closely with various departments such as Housekeeping, F&B, Front Office etc. to solve day to day operational issues.
• Participate in fire drills, testing of Fire, Life, Health and Safety systems.
• Participate in departmental meetings, seminars, training etc.

2.       Hotel Asset Management

Working with the hotel Chief Engineer, Assistant Chief Engineer to:

• Maintain all equipment and systems functioning to its optimum benefit.
• Conduct preventive maintenance work and provide input for long-term planning to the enhancement of the hotel.
