As Shift Engineer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of the hotel’s facilities and equipment. You will support the Engineering team in delivering a safe, efficient and well‑maintained environment for both guests and associates. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled and hands‑on professional who takes pride in problem‑solving and maintaining high operational standards within a luxury setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests, ensuring efficient and professional resolution
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, kitchen and HVAC equipment
  • Inspect tools, machinery and facilities, identifying faults and carrying out necessary repairs
  • Troubleshoot and conduct basic repairs across plumbing, electrical, carpentry and general maintenance areas
  • Carry out painting, minor repairs, fixture replacements and general upkeep of guest rooms and public areas
  • Maintain and manage inventory of tools, parts and engineering supplies
  • Identify and operate shut‑off valves and utility systems safely and effectively
  • Communicate daily activities, maintenance issues and handover notes across shifts
  • Support maintenance of landscaping systems, including irrigation and external areas
  • Use appropriate safety systems, including Lockout/Tagout procedures, at all times
  • Maintain accurate records and utilise basic computer systems to log work and adjust equipment settings
  • Ensure all work areas are clean, safe and compliant with health and safety standards
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure minimal disruption to guest experience
