Novotel & Ibis Rotorua Lakeside is looking for a Kitchen Hand to join our team and help keep our kitchen running smoothly.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced hospitality environment, takes pride in keeping things clean and organised, and is keen to learn and develop their hospitality skills.

As a Kitchen Hand, you’ll play an important role in supporting our chefs and wider Food & Beverage team. Your responsibilities will include:

• Washing dishes and keeping the kitchen clean and organised
• Assisting chefs with basic food preparation
• Preparing and cleaning kitchen equipment
• Ensuring dishes, utensils and equipment are available when needed
• Keeping kitchen areas, floors and storage areas clean
• Assisting with deliveries and putting stock away
• Following food safety, hygiene and health & safety standards
• Supporting the kitchen team during busy breakfast, lunch and dinner services
• Completing other general kitchen duties as required

We’re looking for someone who:

• Is reliable, punctual and has a great work ethic
• Can work well as part of a team
• Is comfortable working in a busy environment
• Has a positive, can-do attitude
• Takes pride in cleanliness and presentation
• Is physically fit and comfortable being on their feet
• Has good attention to detail
• Is available to work a range hours, with shifts rostered across 7 days a week, including weekends and public holidays as required.
• Previous kitchen or hospitality experience is an advantage, but not essential. Full training will be provided to the right person.
