We’re looking for a detail-oriented and organized Hotel Accounts Clerk to join our accounting team in Johannesburg, South Africa Mercure Randburg. In this role, you will provide essential support to our accounts department, ensuring accurate financial record-keeping and timely processing of transactions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong numerical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

• Process and verify invoices, expense claims, and purchase orders with accuracy and efficiency
• Perform daily bank reconciliations and identify discrepancies for resolution
• Maintain and update the general ledger and accounts payable/receivable records
• Prepare financial reports and statements for management review
• Support month-end and year-end closing procedures
• Enter financial data into accounting software systems with precision
• Organize and maintain filing systems for financial documents and records
• Communicate with vendors, departments, and external parties regarding account inquiries
• Assist with accounts reconciliation and audit preparation
• Monitor and track hotel-related expenses and departmental budgets

• Proven experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, or general accounting roles
• Proficiency in accounting software systems (such as SAP, Oracle, or QuickBooks)
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
