Assistant Chief Engineer

Are you a hands-on engineering professional with a passion for excellence and a commitment to maintaining world-class facilities? We are looking for an experienced and motivated Assistant Chief Engineer to join our opening team. In this role, you will support the Chief Engineer in leading the Engineering department, ensuring the hotel’s facilities, equipment, and systems are maintained to the highest standards while delivering a safe and exceptional environment for our guests and team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Chief Engineer in the day-to-day management of the Engineering department.
• Assist in implementing preventive maintenance programmes to ensure the efficient operation of all hotel facilities and equipment.
• Monitor building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire & life safety, and mechanical equipment.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and statutory regulations.
• Lead, coach and motivate the Engineering team, promoting a culture of teamwork, safety and continuous improvement.
• Coordinate with external contractors and service providers to ensure work is completed to the required standards.
• Support energy conservation initiatives and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and operational requirements to ensure minimal disruption to the guest experience.
• Assist in preparing maintenance schedules, reports and departmental records.

• Previous experience in a supervisory engineering role within a hotel environment, preferably as an Assistant Chief Engineer or Engineering Supervisor.
• Strong technical knowledge of hotel building systems, plant operations and preventive maintenance.
• Good understanding of UAE health, safety and fire & life safety regulations.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to develop and motivate a high-performing team.
• Excellent problem-solving, organisational and communication skills.
• A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to perform well under pressure.
• Relevant engineering qualification or technical certification.
• Pre-opening experience is an advantage.
