Chef de Partie

Crowne Plaza Christchurch is an IHG hotel located in the heart of downtown Christchurch, right opposite Victoria Square and just a short walk from major attractions, including the Avon River, Town Hall, Art Gallery, Te Pae Conference Centre and the modern dining and shopping precincts.

Crowne Plaza Christchurch’s food and beverage offering includes Market Place restaurant breakfast and dinner, 1851 Social bar & lounge, High Tea, In-Room Dining, and our conferencing and events offering.

That’s where you come in! We’re looking for a Chef de Partie to join our close-knit team. We’re open 7 days are looking for someone who can lead our skilled evening dinner team.

Your day-to-day

You’ll be responsible for leading our evening kitchen team and providing an outstanding culinary experience to our guests. Key responsibilities include:

  • Prepare and cook a la carte dishes for our restaurant, bar, and in-room dining
  • Assist with functions and events preparation
  • Work with our Senior Chef de Partie, Sous Chef and Executive Chef to design menus
  • Train and coach chefs and kitchen stewards
  • Work in a safe and clean environment in accordance with HACCP

What we need from you

  • A passion for cooking and presenting food to a high standard
  • Great communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritise tasks
  • 2+ years kitchen experience in a hotel, restaurant or café environment
  • Flexibility to work evenings, days, weekends and public holidays
