Director of Finance

The role partners with our business to maximize profit for our shareholders and owners and innovates to deliver an industry leading efficient finance organization.

Here’s what you’ll do during a typical day:

  • Drive financial strategy: Lead all hotel finance activities and develop financial strategies that align with the hotel’s business objectives, maximizing profitability, operational efficiency, cash flow, and long-term value creation.
  • Oversee financial planning and analysis: Direct the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, business plans, financial projections, and performance reviews, providing meaningful financial insights to support strategic and operational decision-making.
  • Advise hotel leadership: Serve as the principal financial business partner to the General Manager, ownership groups, asset managers, and department leaders, delivering data-driven recommendations that enhance financial performance and support business growth.
  • Ensure financial compliance and governance: Maintain compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Hilton policies, regulatory requirements, contractual obligations, and management agreement provisions, while safeguarding hotel assets through robust financial controls and risk management practices.
  • Optimize financial reporting and controls: Oversee financial systems, reporting processes, internal controls, and accounting procedures to ensure accuracy, transparency, efficiency, and timely reporting of financial results.
  • Monitor and approve financial transactions: Direct and authorize hotel revenues, expenditures, purchases, payroll, contracts, and capital investments to ensure fiscal discipline, operational efficiency, and alignment with approved budgets.
  • Manage stakeholder partnerships: Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Hotel Operations, Commercial, Human Resources, Procurement, IT, Shared Service Centers, Owners, Asset Managers, and Regional Finance teams to support business objectives and financial success.
  • Ensure management agreement compliance: Maintain a thorough understanding of the hotel management agreement and implement processes and controls to ensure full compliance, escalating any areas of non-compliance to the appropriate leadership.
  • Drive operational and commercial performance: Partner closely with operational and commercial leaders to identify opportunities for revenue growth, cost optimization, productivity improvement, and enhanced financial returns.
  • Cultivate a high-performing team: Lead, develop, and retain a best-in-class finance team through effective performance management, succession planning, professional development, coaching, and recognition programs while actively supporting Hilton Finance development initiatives.

The following capabilities and qualifications would be advantageous:

  • Previous hotel-level finance leadership experience within the hospitality industry and experience working within an international hospitality brand or multi-property environment.
  • Demonstrated strategic, financial, and operational leadership capabilities, including the ability to formulate long-term goals and priorities, analyze complex financial and operational data, interpret business performance, make sound decisions, influence stakeholders at all levels, negotiate effectively, lead high-performing teams, and drive business results within a dynamic hospitality environment.
