About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental Al Faisaliah Riyadh within the P&C Department in Riyadh, the Director of People & Culture is responsible for managing the People & Culture function for the property. The Director of People & Culture functions as an effective business partner and consultant to management and colleagues and owns specific local/ regional projects to optimize the efficiency of the division.  The DOPC provides each department with people, guidance and support necessary to achieve their guest service and business objectives. Overall responsibility for People & Culture function in the hotel includes planning, directing, and implementing policies and activities in talent acquisition, compensation & benefits, learning & development, colleagues’ relations, safety & health, management organisation and practices.

As Director of People & Culture, you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Develop and drive the property’s People strategy in line with the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group.
  • Responsible to set up and oversee all People & Culture practices, processes and systems.
  • Provide guidance to Division and Department Heads in all matters pertaining to the employment function and procedures.
  • Ensure the colleagues’ career path and development needs are being prioritised and documented in accordance with the MO systems.
  • Oversees all People & Culture practices, processes and systems, ensuring successful operation. Ensure that the Hotel’s total compensation and benefits package is competitive within the marketplace.
  • Current compensation and benefits surveys are available
  • Ensure that all jobs are regularly reviewed to provide internal and external equity in terms of compensation.

As Director of People & Culture, we expect from you: 

  • Payroll system is in place and salaries are paid on time
  • To keep abreast of the various developments and interpret implications of legislations which may affect the Hotel.
  • Spearhead and implement measures and policies that will ensure positive colleague climate, high morale and effective communication.
  • Promote good colleague relations through various programs and maintain a proper procedure for counselling and handling grievances.
  • Support and organize social and sports activities for colleagues.
  • Every colleague has a valid employment contract, working permits and visa (where required).
