General Manager

Additional Information: This hotel is owned and operated by an independent franchisee, Mainsail Lodging. The franchisee is a separate company and a separate employer from Marriott International, Inc.  The franchisee solely controls all aspects of the hotel’s employment policies and practices, including hiring, firing, discipline, staffing, compensation, benefits, and all other terms and conditions of employment.  If you accept a position at this hotel, you will be employed by a franchisee and not by Marriott International, Inc.

 

What you have  
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of progressive Human Resources experience, preferably in hospitality, hotels, resorts, or service-focused industries.
  • Experience managing employee relations, investigations, recruiting, onboarding, and performance management required.
  • Experience supporting a Marriott-branded property or other branded hotel is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, over the telephone, and through written correspondence. This includes having the ability to influence leadership when appropriate.
  • Ability to occasionally work long hours, weekends, or holidays to support hotel operations, recruiting events, investigations, or associate activities, as required.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • SHRM-CP, or PHR certification, ideal but not required.
What you’ll do  
  • Serve as the primary Human Resources partner for hotel leadership and associates.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers on employee relations matters, including coaching, performance management, corrective action, investigations, and conflict resolution.
  • Conduct workplace investigations and administer disciplinary actions and employment terminations in accordance with Mainsail’s policies and applicable employment laws.
  • Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including sourcing, interviewing, selecting, hiring, and onboarding new associates.
  • Partner with department leaders to identify staffing needs and implement effective recruiting strategies.
