The Greensman position covers all facets of the groundskeeper position with an expanded role concentrating on leadership, training, and communication. This position requires a positive attitude, strong work ethic, ability to work with and lead a crew as well as work alone, and willingness to want and learn all aspects of golf maintenance. They should have experience as a laborer with an appropriate and developing grasp of course conditioning requirements and the ability to achieve these requirements in the field.
The Greensman position assists the course maintenance staff in day-to-day operations. Performs daily course maintenance responsibilities and is the point of contact for course maintenance staff. Incorporates safe work practices in job performance. Act as a crew leader when assigned and communicate with a clear understanding of the expectations. Provide feedback throughout projects on progress, staffing, material, and equipment. Adopt the “culture” of the department in behavior, work ethic, and appearance.
