Hotel Engineer

Keep one of Amsterdam’s largest hotels running at its best.

476 hotel rooms. 21 meeting spaces. A ballroom for 700 guests. Restaurants, kitchens, (rooftop) bar, conference facilities, and thousands of guests every week.

Behind every great guest experience is a well-maintained building, and that’s where you come in!

At Park Inn by Radisson Amsterdam City West, no two days are the same. One moment you’re troubleshooting an electrical fault, the next you’re carrying out preventive maintenance, supporting a renovation project, or working alongside specialist contractors on complex installations.

If you enjoy solving technical challenges, taking ownership, and seeing the direct impact of your work, we’d love to meet you.

What’s in it for you?

  • A salary in FG 5 of the Horeca CAO €2.505,04 – €3.032,79 gross based on 38-hours per week (depending on experience);
  • 25 holidays per year (based on full-time employment);
  • Travel expense reimbursement of €0.23 per km (max. €14.63 net per day);
  • Free parking;
  • A freshly prepared meal during every shift;
  • 8% holiday allowance;
  • Industry pension plan (PH&C);
  • Plenty of opportunities to develop your technical skills through training and internal career opportunities within Radisson Hotel Group;
  • Staff discounts on hotel stays and restaurants worldwide;
  • A friendly, international team where your technical expertise is genuinely valued.

Job Description

What you’ll be working on

As an Engineer, you’ll be responsible for keeping our hotel safe, operational, and running without interruption. You’ll join our international Engineering team of four Engineers, one Assistant Chief Engineer, and one Chief Engineer, where teamwork and collaboration are key to delivering a great guest experience.

Your work includes:

  • Troubleshooting and repairing electrical, mechanical, and building-related installations;
  • Maintaining guest rooms, public areas, kitchens, lighting, plumbing, HVAC, and technical equipment;
  • Carrying out preventive maintenance and inspections;
  • Installing and maintaining electrical systems;
  • Preparing and supporting renovation and improvement projects;
  • Working together with external contractors and ensuring work is completed safely;
  • Identifying improvements before small issues become major problems.

Qualifications

Who we’re looking for

You’re someone who enjoys figuring things out. Rather than waiting for someone to tell you what’s wrong, you spot opportunities, solve problems, and take pride in delivering quality work.

You bring:

  • 1–2 years of experience in a technical maintenance or engineering role (hotel experience is a plus, not a must);
  • A technical education, preferably in Electrical Engineering (considered a plus);
  • Knowledge of electrical installations and/or mechanical engineering;
  • A VEV diploma (low and high voltage) is an advantage;
  • A Category B driving licence is an advantage;
  • Good communication skills English;
  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts (07:00–15:00, 09:00–17:00, or 10:00–18:00), participate in a fair rotating weekend schedule shared across the team, and take part in the on-call duty roster.
