Job Description

 

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Laundry Processing: Handle washing, dry cleaning, and pressing according to procedures established by the Laundry Manager.
  • Chemical Management: Safely and carefully use laundry chemicals, solvents, and spotting chemicals as instructed.
  • Item Marking & Inspection: Mark all items for laundering with attention to room numbers and sequences. Report any stained or torn items, items left in pockets, or jewelry found on clothing to supervisors before cleaning.
  • Adherence to Guest Requests: Ensure specific instructions are followed perfectly, such as folding trousers, using light starch, or folding shirts.
  • Equipment Care: Weigh laundry prior to loading and maintain all equipment in a proper state of cleanliness.
  • Operational Support: Attend daily briefings and carry out valet services as needed, including the delivery of linen.
  • Area Maintenance: Keep the working area clean, organized, and professional at all times.

 

Qualifications

 

Qualifications & Attributes

  • Experience: Typically requires a minimum of 1–2 years in a similar capacity within a 5-star or luxury hospitality environment.
  • Language Skills: Average reading, writing, and oral proficiency in English is required.
  • Professionalism: Must be well-presented and professionally groomed at all times to align with Raffles’ high standards.
  • Key Skills: Strong interpersonal skills and extreme attention to detail are essential for maintaining service quality.
