Learning & Development Manager

Mandarin Oriental, Rome will offer a rare urban retreat set across ten 19th‑century villas, surrounded by lush gardens yet only moments from the city’s iconic landmarks. The hotel will feature 108 elegantly designed rooms and suites – many with private terraces or gardens – crafted by renowned designers Gilles & Boissier. With six distinctive restaurants and bars, including a rooftop Mandarin Bar with sweeping city views, the property will blend tranquil residential charm with contemporary Roman sophistication.

About the job

As Learning & Development Manager, you’ll inspire a culture of continuous growth, driving learning, performance and talent development across the hotel. Partnering with leaders at every level, you’ll create impactful development experiences that empower colleagues, strengthen leadership capability and support exceptional guest experiences.

As Learning & Development Manager, you will responsible for the following duties

  • Champion a culture of learning, growth and excellence by bringing Mandarin Oriental’s vision, values and service philosophy to life across the hotel.
  • Design and deliver an engaging learning and development pre / post-opening strategy that supports business priorities, colleague growth and exceptional guest experiences.
  • Partner with senior leaders to identify talent, build succession pipelines and support performance and career development across all levels.
  • Create innovative learning experiences, from onboarding and leadership development to service excellence, digital learning and functional skills training.
  • Facilitate inspiring workshops and development programmes for colleagues, managers and senior leadership teams.
  • Lead the annual learning needs analysis and translate insights into impactful development plans that drive performance.
  • Coach leaders and colleagues to support career growth, talent development and high-performing teams.
