Night Auditor

Company Description

ibis Amsterdam Centre Stopera

Do you do your best work while the city sleeps?

We are looking for a night receptionist who keeps things calm when they get interesting, and who is just as happy chatting with a late arrival as they are staying sharp on the safety of the hotel.

This is a fixed contract of 4 nights per week. Four nights on, three days off, and a roster you know well in advance. No last minute changes, no guessing.

And you are never on your own. Every night shift is run by two people, so you always have a colleague next to you.

Who we are

You join a team of 26 colleagues who actually know each other. We are a multi competent team, which means we all step in wherever the guest needs us. Flat structure, short lines, plenty of humour, and a culture where we work towards good results together. If you want to really learn the trade, this is the place.

We are a 207 room hotel right next to Waterlooplein, so trams and the metro are on your doorstep when your shift ends at 07:00.

Job Description

What you will be doing

At night, you are the hotel. With sometimes 300 to 400 sleeping guests in the building, you are their eyes and ears. That is a real responsibility, and it is exactly what makes the job worth doing.

A shift looks roughly like this:

  • 23:00 You take over from the evening shift and run through everything that happened during the day
  • Through the night You welcome late arrivals, check them in, answer guest questions and solve the unexpected on the spot
  • Night audit You process the day’s administration and revenue and prepare the reports for the morning team
  • Safety rounds You walk at least two rounds in and around the building and keep the overview
  • Light cleaning You keep the bar, lobby and public areas looking the way they should
  • From around 05:00 You set up breakfast so early guests can start their day properly
  • 07:00 You hand over to the morning team

So a bit of everything: administration, hospitality and hands on work.

Working hours

  • 4 night shifts per week, from 23:00 to 07:00. That is a fixed 32 hour contract
  • Fixed roster, published well in advance, so you can actually plan your life around it
  • Four nights on, three days off in a row
  • Want to pick up the occasional evening shift (15:00 to 23:00) on top? Happy to talk about it
