Talent and Culture Officer

 

Job Description

 

  • Assist with the overseeing of the daily operation of the Talent & Culture Department;
  • Assist in the design, development and delivery of strategic and operational human resources services throughout the organization
  • Provide all office administration duties such as written correspondence, mail, filing, photocopying, ordering supplies etc.
  • Responsible for the preparation of new Colleague contracts and payroll information as required
  • Responsible for Orientation of new colleagues and training of all colleagues on Fairmont Standards and training programs
  • Assist in carrying out staff audits, identify gaps and propose staffing levels for the organization
  • Responsible for the organization and auditing of the departmental filing system
  • Assist with the implementation of human resources policies, practices, and procedures, and ensure compliance with laws and/or regulations with regards to recruitment
  • Assist with the drafting of job advertisements for vacant jobs, screening applications, shortlisting, interviewing and selecting candidates
  • Assist with reviewing departmental recruitment requests to ensure that recruitment is based on the organization’s staff establishment
  • Responsible for benefits administration
  • Responsible for the preparation of weekly and monthly payroll information, ensuring that all paperwork is processed and submitted in a timely  fashion
  • Assist with disciplinary meetings and employee relations matters
  • Assist with ensuring that Performance Appraisals are completed
  • Assist with driving employee engagement efforts

 

Qualifications

 

  • Computer literate in Microsoft Windows applications required
  • Previous experience working with Human Resources Management Systems required
  • University/College degree in a related discipline an asset
  • Knowledge of Barbados Labour Laws
