Job Description

 

As a Second Cook in the Bakery, you will support the Pastry and Bakery team in preparing high-quality baked goods that delight our guests. You will be responsible for the preparation and presentation of breads, pastries, and other baked items according to Fairmont standards. With an eye for detail and a passion for precision, you’ll ensure consistency, freshness, and cleanliness in all aspects of your work.

Position Type: Permanent
Rate of Pay: $19.75/hour
Start Date: August 2025

Job Duties Include:

  • Assist the First Cook, and Chefs in food preparation and baking breads and other baked goods according to recipes and Fairmont standards.
  • Ensure food is presented in an attractive manner and adheres to the established plating standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Ensure that station opening and closing procedures are carried out to standard
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and rotation of ingredients and supplies to minimize waste and prevent contamination
  • Carry out any other tasks as assigned

 

Qualifications

 

  • Previous experience in a professional bakery or pastry kitchen required.
  • Frequent standing, walking, lifting, and carrying up to 25 kg

You may be required to work on holidays, weekends, overnights and other non-day shifts. Submission of your application to Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise indicates that you are able to meet these requirements as needed.
