We are looking for individuals who:

Key Knowledge

– Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language.

– Thorough knowledge of the tasks performed by the Housekeeping Attendants.

– Basic knowledge of chemical items used throughout the department.

Key Functions

– Coordinates with the Executive Housekeeper if any outstanding jobs are to be completed.

– Monitors the housekeepers, encouraging them to work efficiently and effectively.

– Prepares assignment for the shift and conducts pre-shift meeting; ensures that the work is conducted according to the present cleaning schedule.

– Ensures that all equipment’s are properly stored at the end of the shift.

– Makes requisitions one week in advance. Trains housekeeping employees in order to achieve the standard of cleanliness in guest rooms.

– Inspects guest rooms, including VIP, vacant, occupied and check-out rooms, in order to ensure the standards are being achieved by each employee.

– Actively participates in FS management training programs.

– Monitors the performance of runners ensuring that there are sufficient supplies on the guest floor and the hallways, stairs, elevators, service area, and guest room doors, tracks, linen closets and armoires are maintained according to standards.

– Maintains the upkeep of all bedspreads, draperies, carpet cleaning, sheets, bed skirts and furniture refinishing.

– Establishes, implements and monitors guest room maintenance and repairs program in conjunction with the Engineering department.

– Ensures the department is immaculate, highly organized and well maintained to provide the optimal working   environment for the staff.

– Achieves agreed goals in LQA scores; improves scores as agreed.

– Monitors and directs progress of all housekeeping staff in rooms that are undergoing deep cleaning.

– Ensures floor storage areas and closets are kept in an orderly and clean fashion.

– Prepares room and floor status report sheets for assigned work areas and assigns room to room attendants as needed.

– Provides excellent guest service in all areas of responsibility.

– Handles all lost and found items according to procedure.

– Previous Hotel operations experience, university degree or equivalent experiences are preferred.
