Purchasing Supervisor
About the role
The Purchasing Supervisor oversees the day-to-day operations of the Purchasing Department, ensuring accurate ordering, receiving, storage, and inventory control of all hotel supplies. This role supports the Assistant Director of Purchasing and collaborates closely with the culinary and F&B teams to maintain product quality, operational efficiency, and adherence to Four Seasons standards.
What you will do
• Train, supervise, and motivate Purchasing team members.
• Coordinate all ordering, receiving, and distribution of hotel goods.
• Collaborate with the Chef and department leaders to forecast needs and manage costs.
• Maintain and update inventory sheets, vendor details, and purchasing systems.
• Conduct regular storeroom inspections to ensure cleanliness, safety, and proper stock rotation.
• Supervise receiving and storage procedures, ensuring quality control and documentation accuracy.
• Participate in scheduled inventories and maintain accountability for all goods.
• Support sustainability and waste-reduction practices across all purchasing operations.
What you bring
• 2–3 years of purchasing or storeroom experience, preferably in a luxury hotel or resort.
• Excellent personal presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Prior supervisory experience and strong organizational and communication skills.
• Strong time management skills: ability to multi-task, set priorities, and adjust to changing conditions. Willing to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to operate all computer equipment necessary to perform the job; knowledge of BirchStreet or similar purchasing systems preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work closely with other departments and communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues and guests.
• Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs.
