Assistant Director of Housekeeping

Job Description

 

What you will be doing:

Reporting to the Director, Rooms Operations, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
  • Address guest concerns and react quickly; logging and notifying proper departments as required
  • Supervise the day-to-day operation of the department to ensure service standards are followed
  • Maintain all guest rooms, public areas and heart of the house areas; ensuring that the highest standard of cleanliness is met
  • Monitor labor costs while ensuring effective scheduling and department productivity
  • Assist with preventative maintenance programs while working with the Chief Engineer
  • Manage the departmental budget in a fiscally responsible manner
  • Ensure inventory and ordering of linen, guest supplies, and cleaning products are managed effectively
  • Ensure effective communication, including coaching and performance management
  • Attend regularly scheduled departmental meetings
  • Follow departmental policies and procedures
  • Report necessary maintenance items
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies
  • Maintain a regularly scheduled cleaning program (i.e. floor care, hard cleaning, mattress flipping, etc.) and maintain a detailed checklist for each position.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with all corporate Risk Management standards (MSDS, HazComm, etc.).
  • Prepare and conduct Housekeeping interviews as required and follow hiring procedures
  • Balance and clear room status daily.
  • Assist in preparing employee Schedules according to business forecast, payroll budget guidelines, and productivity requirements
  • Monitor all V.I.P.’s, special guests and requests.
  • Ensure completion of regular maintenance and cleaning projects on a biannual basis.
  • Collaborate on FF&E, OS&E, other large format complex capital projects
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Salary Range: $100,000 to $115,000 USD Gross per Annual
