Senior Sales Manager

Job Description

 

  • Achieves or exceeds assigned revenue and profitability goals by executing strategic sales activities within designated market segments.
  • Contributes to the development of the hotel’s annual sales and marketing plan, revenue strategies, and long-term business objectives.
  • Oversees preparation and analysis of monthly sales and booking reports, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensures the sales department operates efficiently within approved budgets and cost parameters.
  • Maintains professional and effective correspondence with clients, partners, and internal departments.
  • Maximizes group and event business profitability through proactive solicitation, negotiation, and confirmation of high-value accounts.
  • Analyzes client needs and recommends tailored programs and service solutions to enhance guest satisfaction and revenue growth.
  • Prepares high-quality proposals and contracts in collaboration with the Director of Sales to optimize profitability while meeting client expectations.
  • Utilizes advanced sales techniques and strategic selling approaches to secure new and repeat business.
  • Conducts regular outside sales calls, client visits, and networking events to strengthen relationships and expand the customer base.
  • Leads client site inspections, property tours, and entertainment functions to showcase the hotel’s facilities and services.
  • Maintains close contact with in-house and repeat guests to encourage loyalty, repeat bookings, and referrals across the brand portfolio.
  • Collaborates with all hotel departments to ensure seamless service delivery and fulfillment of client requirements.
  • Coordinates with the Front Office and Revenue Management teams to optimize occupancy, rate mix, and group placement.
  • Supports the Director of Sales in developing and executing special projects and promotional initiatives to drive market share growth.
  • Provides guidance and mentorship to Sales Executives and Coordinators to enhance team performance and professional development.
  • Keeps the Director of Sales and key hotel leadership informed of booking status, major accounts, and market trends.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Minimum 5–7 years in hotel sales, including at least 2–3 years in a senior or leadership position.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve and exceed room, catering, and event revenue targets consistently.
  • Expertise in developing and executing sales strategies aligned with the hotel’s revenue goals and brand positioning.
  • In-depth understanding of corporate, leisure, government, and MICE segments, as well as current market trends.
  • Strong ability to manage and grow high-value corporate and group accounts, ensuring long-term partnerships.
  • Experience mentoring and leading a team of sales executives to drive productivity and performance.
  • Excellent presentation, persuasion, and closing abilities with high-level decision-makers.
  • Proficient in forecasting, budgeting, and analyzing sales performance data to guide strategic decisions.
  • Hands-on experience with hotel management and CRM systems (e.g., Opera, Delphi, Salesforce, or similar).
  • Well-groomed, results-oriented, and capable of representing the hotel at industry events, trade shows, and client meetings.
