Job Description
Fairmont El San Juan Hotel Accountant directs the day-to-day operations of the Accounting staff, assuring that a highly productive and well-trained staff is always maintained. The Accountant assures the accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of the financial reporting and Accounting functions while providing information and assistance to the Director of Accounting and the Director of Finance & Business Support.
- Assist in maintaining accurate financial records and general ledgers
- Record daily financial transactions, including income and expenses
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
- Assist with bank reconciliations and cash audits
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances
- Assist with inventory counts and stock reconciliations
- Support month-end closing activities, including accruals and journal entries
- Help prepare monthly financial reports and statements
- Verify guest bills, banquet charges, and room revenue postings
- Support payroll preparation and attendance records
- Ensure daily audit packages are completed accurately and on time
- Ensure compliance with hotel accounting policies and procedures
- Assist during internal and external audits
- Maintain proper filing and documentation of financial records
