Assistant Manager – Hygiene

Job Description

 

  • Develop and implement comprehensive hygiene and sanitation programs to ensure compliance with industry standards and local regulations
  • Conduct regular inspections of food receiving, preparation, storage, and service areas to identify and address food safety and hygiene issues
  • Manage the effective maintenance of all hygiene-related documentation and records
  • Collaborate with external agencies, including laboratories and government bodies, on sanitary matters
  • Oversee the proper segregation, storage, and removal of all waste streams, including recyclables and hazardous materials
  • Lead and conduct food safety training programs for staff members across all departments
  • Perform internal food safety audits and develop action plans to address any identified issues
  • Continuously evaluate and improve food safety management systems and procedures
  • Coordinate with the Purchasing, Cost Control, Culinary, and F&B departments to conduct regular supplier audits and trainings
  • Liaise with external food safety auditors and chemical service providers to ensure compliance with all requirements
  • Monitor and analyze hygiene-related data to identify trends and areas for improvement

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Food Technology, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Hygiene Manager or Assistant Manager in the hospitality industry
  • HACCP and Food Safety certifications strongly preferred
  • Comprehensive knowledge of kitchen hygiene practices and occupational health and safety standards
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and act on hygiene-related data
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with all levels of staff
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience in managing cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in using hygiene monitoring and reporting tools
  • In-depth understanding of local health and safety regulations in Udaipur and India
  • Proven track record of implementing and improving food safety management systems
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety
