Commis Chef – Banquets

Job Description

 

 

  • Perform general and specialised cooking duties within the banquet kitchen
  • Ensure all food produced is prepared in line with kitchen recipes and presentation standards
  • Assist in maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and organisation within the kitchen and food outlets
  • Support the kitchen team during banquet and event service operations
  • Assist in training and guiding junior kitchen team members when required
  • Contribute to a positive team environment while promoting flexibility and productivity within the kitchen

 

Qualifications

 

  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or an equivalent qualification
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar kitchen role (banquet experience highly regarded)
  • Experience working in high-volume kitchen environments
  • Strong communication skills and professional presentation
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight service deadlines
  • Availability to work a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays
  • Genuine passion for food, hospitality, and creating memorable guest experiences
