Events Sales Manager performs key functions such as handling events and customer service, bookings of all types of non-residential events from various sources of leads, soliciting business, sales call and administration. Through proper handover process, Events Sales Manager also manages entire MICE groups (both rooms and events) after the contract is signed by Sales Managers.
Events Sales Manager interfaces with the hotel management (Director of Events, Director of Sales & Director of Sales & Marketing) to report on operational matters, personnel issues, individual sales and service performance; as well as market survey related to Events Sales department.
Responsibly Description
– To ensure individual sales goals, business objectives and profitability within the department have been achieved.
– To operate with peak efficiency through coordination, communication and cooperation with supporting departments.
– Event Sales Manager will be allocated with Sales Manager(s) in a buddy system to assist Sales Department to respond to inquiries within the timeframe set by W hotels.
– To support Sales Department by taking over Sales buddy and other Sales Managers’ MICE groups (assigned by Director of Events once confirmed) and follow through.
– Every Event Sales Manager will be a champion of a system (e.g. Delphi), a Marriott loyalty program and a segment of events (i.e. MICE, Weddings, Social, W Happenings). The champion will have extensive knowledge of the system, program and the segment and assist the team when in doubt. The champion will also update the team with latest changes / execution plans timely.
– To answer telephone calls and take messages for the department and maintain all Events files in accordance with established hotel procedures and standard.
– To provide an inspiring example of Events Sales citizenship, responsibility and resourcefulness by asserting, protecting and demonstrating the core values of Sales & Marketing Division and W Taipei.
– To provide team members with a consistent management “voice” to upper management.
– To understand sound financial projections and manage cost control.
– To effectively support and action on Events Sales objectives, such as customer service, financial targets, revenues, profits, image enhancement and Talent appearance standards.
