Income Auditor

Job Description

We are currently seeking an Income Auditor to join our vibrant team. At RHG, we are in search of individuals who go beyond the resume – those with character, skills, talents, and a passion for creating memorable experiences. We value mindset as pivotal: anticipating guest needs, supporting your department, and consistently delivering memorable experiences.

As an Income Auditor, you bring a refined sense of financial acumen, a detail-oriented mindset, and a dedication to excellence to our dynamic Finance Team. Your commitment to precision, strategic financial planning, and effective team collaboration elevates our financial operations to new heights.

  • Supports the efficient operation of the Finance department by ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of daily revenue auditing processes across Rooms, Food & Beverage, and other operating departments.
  • Performs daily audits and reconciliations of hotel revenue, verifying room, F&B, concession, and miscellaneous income to ensure all transactions are accurately recorded and supported in accordance with hotel policies and accounting standards.
  • Investigates and resolves revenue discrepancies, including room charges, housekeeping variances, rebates, paid-outs, voids, discounts, dummy folios, missing checks, and other exceptions, ensuring appropriate approvals and documentation are maintained.
  • Verifies that complimentary, house use, entertainment, and management transactions are properly authorized, tracked, and reported in compliance with hotel policies and Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) requirements where applicable.
  • Reconciles Opera, POS, credit card batches, guest ledger, and control reports, ensuring daily revenue balances are accurate and promptly reporting discrepancies to the Financial Controller or Assistant Financial Controller.
  • Conducts revenue control procedures, including surprise cash float counts and outlet audits, to maintain strong internal controls and safeguard hotel assets.
  • Maintains complete and organized audit documentation, supporting records, and daily reporting files for management review, internal controls, and external audit requirements.
  • Supports compliance with hotel policies, accounting procedures, statutory requirements, and internal audit standards while contributing to continuous improvement of revenue control processes.
  • Builds and maintains effective working relationships with Front Office, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, and other operational departments to ensure accurate revenue reporting and timely resolution of audit findings.
  • Delivers professional, timely, and courteous service while maintaining flexibility to perform additional duties, attend required training, and support operational needs as directed by management.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related discipline would be an added advantage.
  • Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in a Finance, Revenue Audit, Income Audit, Night Audit, or Accounts Receivable role, preferably within the hospitality industry.
  • Experience using hotel Property Management Systems and Point-of-Sale systems, with knowledge on Opera being critical.
  • Experience reconciling daily revenue, investigating variances, and preparing audit documentation.
  • Sound understanding of accounting principles and internal control procedures.
  • Knowledge of hotel revenue cycles, including Rooms, Food & Beverage, and other operating revenues.
  • Understanding of cash handling, credit card reconciliation, rebates, discounts, and revenue recognition.
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and reconciliation skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to identify discrepancies, investigate issues, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to meet daily reporting deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgement.
  • High level of integrity, accuracy, and accountability.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with operational departments.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing operational requirements.
  • Commitment to delivering high standards of service and compliance.
