Duty Technician

Purpose

Support the Maintenance Manager in leading the daily hotel engineering operations at Mantra 2 Bond Street. You will provide hands-on technical leadership on shift, ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of all building plant, systems, and guest rooms. By maintaining high asset standards and coordinating swift repairs, you play a key role in protecting the owner’s investment and delivering an exceptional guest experience.

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance shifts, allocating tasks and providing clear handovers.
• Execute preventative maintenance and conduct daily plant rounds to identify risks.
• Perform hands-on repairs to building services, plant, and guest rooms.
• Supervise onsite contractors, ensuring strict adherence to hotel safety protocols.
• Collaborate with Housekeeping and Front Office to resolve defects swiftly.

Skills and Experience

• Relevant trade qualification in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, or HVAC is highly regarded.
• Proven hands-on engineering or maintenance experience within a hotel or commercial property environment.
• Strong technical troubleshooting skills across HVAC, mechanical plant, plumbing, and general building assets.
• Demonstrated shift leadership ability, including coordinating contractors and delegating work effectively on duty.
• Excellent communication skills, a professional presentation, and a genuine commitment to guest service.
