Commis Chef

We are currently seeking a Commis Chef to join our vibrant team. At Radisson Blu Resort (Fiji), we are in search of individuals who go beyond the resume – those with character, skills, talents, and a passion for creating memorable experiences.

As a Commis Chef you infuse our culinary team with a fresh wave of creativity, an insatiable appetite for learning, and a burning passion for the artistry of gastronomy.

• Supports the smooth running of the kitchen, ensuring all aspects of the guest dining experience are delivered to the highest standard.
• Prepares, cooks and presents food in accordance with menu specifications, recipes, portion control and quality standards.
• Supports daily kitchen operations, including mise en place, preparation and set-up for restaurant service, banquets, room service and special events.
• Works as part of the kitchen team to ensure all food orders are prepared accurately and on time, supporting other sections as required.
• Maintains clean, organized and well-stocked work, cooler and storage areas, ensuring food quality, correct storage and appropriate stock levels.
• Assists with food requisitions, stock control and minimizing waste, supporting the achievement of food cost and productivity targets.
• Takes proper care of kitchen equipment and maintains high standards of food safety, hygiene, health and safety, and compliance with Hotel policies and procedures.
• Builds positive working relationships, supports teamwork and consistently contributes to a guest-focused culture while promoting the company values.
• Undertakes reasonable duties as may be required from time-to-time that may not be highlighted.

• Prior kitchen experience is beneficial but not essential; a culinary qualification would be an advantage.
• A hands-on, can-do attitude with a genuine willingness to learn and develop.
• Reliable and punctual, with a strong commitment to attendance, scheduled shifts and supporting the team.
• Passion for hospitality and delivering a consistently high standard for our guests.
• Personal integrity and pride in completing assigned duties to a high standard.
• Able to multitask, stay organized and work effectively under pressure.
• Flexible and able to work a rotating roster, including early mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays as required.
• Must have the legal right to work and undertake employment in Fiji.
