Host/Hostess

We are currently seeking a Host/Hostess to join our vibrant team at Radisson Hotel Cape Town Foreshore. At Radisson Hotel Group, we are in search of individuals who go beyond the resume – those with character, skills, talents, and a passion for creating memorable experiences.

As a Host/Hostess, you are the welcoming face of the hotel’s dining experience, creating a warm and memorable first impression for every guest while ensuring smooth and professional restaurant operations.

• Greet and welcome guests in a friendly, professional, and courteous manner.
• Escort guests to their tables and present menus when required.
• Manage reservations, seating arrangements, and waiting lists efficiently.
• Ensure the restaurant entrance, reception, and waiting areas are clean and presentable at all times.
• Coordinate with restaurant staff to ensure smooth guest flow and timely seating.
• Handle guest queries, special requests, and complaints professionally and efficiently.
• Answer telephone calls and assist guests with bookings and general enquiries.
• Maintain accurate reservation records and update booking systems accordingly.
• Communicate effectively with servers, supervisors, and kitchen staff regarding guest needs and table availability.
• Assist in maintaining high service standards and enhancing the overall guest experience.
• Monitor restaurant capacity and optimize seating arrangements during busy service periods.
• Adhere to hotel grooming, hygiene, and professional conduct standards.
• Support the team during special events, banqueting functions, and peak operational periods.

• Previous experience in hospitality, restaurant service, or customer service is advantageous but not essential.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Friendly, professional, and guest-oriented personality.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
• Basic computer and reservation system knowledge is beneficial.
• Well-groomed appearance in line with hotel standards.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
