Mandarin Oriental, Suzhou is an upcoming luxury urban resort set on the east bank of Jinji Lake, within Suzhou’s emerging Central Business District. Scheduled to open in 2027, the property has been designed as a low‑rise lakeside sanctuary surrounded by landscaped gardens, parks, and waterfront walkways, while offering direct access to nearby commercial and retail areas.

The hotel will feature 146 elegantly crafted guestrooms and suites, many with private balconies overlooking Jinji Lake and Suzhou’s skyline. Guests will enjoy a selection of dining experiences including three restaurants, a lounge, bar, and cakeshop, along with al fresco options set within tranquil garden spaces.

About the job:

The Director of Food & Beverage is responsible for leading all food & beverage operations across the hotel, including restaurants, bars, in-room dining, banqueting and culinary operations. Reporting to the Hotel Manager, this role is responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences, driving commercial performance, developing high-performing teams and ensuring operational excellence across one of Suzhou’s most exciting luxury dining destinations.

As Director of Food & Beverage, you will be responsible for the following duties:

• Lead and oversee all Food & Beverage operations, ensuring exceptional quality, service standards and guest satisfaction across every outlet.
• Drive the commercial success of the division through innovative concepts, strategic planning, effective revenue management and strong financial performance.
• Partner closely with Sales, Marketing and Public Relations teams to create impactful campaigns, events and experiences that strengthen brand awareness and drive revenue growth.
• Develop innovative dining, beverage and experiential concepts that differentiate Mandarin Oriental, Suzhou within the luxury hospitality market.
• Maintain a visible presence within the operation, building meaningful relationships with guests and creating memorable, personalized experiences.
• Monitor guest feedback and satisfaction metrics, implementing improvements and service enhancements as required.
• Lead, coach and develop the Food & Beverage leadership team and colleagues, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability and continuous improvement.
