We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Chief Engineer to join our facilities management team in Movenpick El Qusier, Egypt. In this pivotal role, you will work closely with the Chief Engineer to ensure the seamless operation and maintenance of our facilities and infrastructure. You will play a key role in supporting the planning, execution, and oversight of maintenance operations while demonstrating a commitment to safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement. - Support the Chief Engineer in motivating, coaching, and directing a team of maintenance technicians, fostering a culture of accountability and professional development
- Assist in developing, prioritizing, and implementing comprehensive maintenance schedules and preventive maintenance programs
- Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for equipment repairs, troubleshooting, and specialized maintenance services
- Conduct technical assessments of facility systems, analyze maintenance reports, and schedule corrective and preventive maintenance activities
- Oversee the quality and timeliness of maintenance work, ensuring all tasks meet established standards and specifications
- Manage inventory of spare parts, materials, and technical equipment, ensuring availability and cost-effectiveness
- Maintain and update local certifications and compliance documentation, including elevator inspections, fire suppression systems, and safety equipment
- Assist in planning and executing large-scale projects such as facility renovations, equipment replacements, and system upgrades
- Monitor and enforce health, safety, and environmental compliance standards across all maintenance operations
- Prepare technical documentation, maintenance logs, and performance reports for management review
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests and coordinate on-call support services as needed
- Contribute to the development and implementation of facility improvement initiatives and operational efficiencies
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or any relevant engineering discipline
- Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience in a technical maintenance role within hospitality operations
- Demonstrated knowledge of electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC, gas systems, and building construction principles
- Proven experience in team supervision or coordination of maintenance personnel
- Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental compliance requirements
- Proficiency in English; Arabic language skills are highly desirable for this location
