About the role:

The Assistant Purchasing Manager supports the overall operations of the Purchasing, Receiving, and Storeroom departments, ensuring that all hotel areas have the necessary supplies for smooth operations. This role involves verifying incoming deliveries, ensuring quality control, and managing inventory levels to meet business needs. The Assistant Purchasing Manager is responsible for maintaining accurate records, coordinating the storage of goods, and ensuring efficient, sanitary, and organized handling of all supplies.
What you will do:
-Be part of the pre-opening team!
-Supervise, train, and motivate Purchasing Department staff, ensuring clear understanding of duties and responsibilities.
-Maintain effective communication with all departments and the Home Office to facilitate smooth operations.
-Ensure compliance with Four Seasons’ policies, internal controls, and purchasing procedures.
-Oversee the receiving process, ensuring all goods are documented and meet quality standards.
-Monitor and update inventory systems to maintain appropriate stock levels and par balances.
-Ensure proper labeling, storage, and rotation of all incoming goods.
-Safeguard the security of all storage areas, ensuring cleanliness and organization.
-Conduct regular inventory checks and adjust stock levels as needed.
-Assist in resolving cost discrepancies and support Accounts Payable with invoice issues.
-Support the food safety and sustainability initiatives in purchasing operations.
-Coordinate replenishment orders, ensuring timely delivery of necessary goods.
-Participate in month-end, quarterly, and annual inventories for all food, beverage, and operational supplies.
-Oversee the timely delivery of goods to the operation and communicate any shorts or missing items.
-Work with the Director of Purchasing to ensure that all requisitions are fulfilled in a timely manner in accordance with Storeroom policies & procedures.
-Monitor slow moving items and report the findings to the Director of Purchasing.
-Assist the Director of Purchasing with staff schedules and disciplinary actions.
-Perform any additional duties as assigned.
What you bring:
-College degree, or equivalent work experience.
– Experience of at least two years full-time employment in a similar position in the hospitality industry.
-Experience in luxury hospitality environments is preferred.
– Knowledge of food & beverage, resort operating supplies, cost control, labor control, maintenance, and finance.
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
