Job Description

 

As the Assistant Recreation Manager at Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, you will be responsible for our Pool, Fitness Area, Boathouse, Kids Camp, Resort’s activities and recreation group’s activities. You will be an ambassador for the exceptional service and recreation activities that are hallmarks of the Jasper Park Lodge.  You and your team will be responsible for promoting and facilitating the various activities that will enhance our guest’s overall experience at our resort.

What you will be doing:

Reporting to the Director, Wellbeing. Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
  • Direct and lead the day-to-day Recreation operation ensuring all standards are followed
  • Ensure Health & Safety regulations are adhered to in all Recreation areas
  • Ensure the maintenance and cleanliness of the Pool, Boathouse, and Health club thermal area, by completing daily inspections of the facilities.
  • Develop and implement programs to enhance departmental revenue
  • Design entertainment programs and activities for children and adults during all official holidays.
  • Ensure a high level of guest service is maintained, through follow up on guests’ issues, comments, and platform.
  • Monitor and effectively control departmental payroll and expenses
  • Effectively schedule all Recreation colleagues
  • Administer and implement of staff training in all aspects of the operation
  • Responsible for all spa purchasing, inventories, keeping track of product shelf life and monitoring products consumptions,
  • Ensure Recreation equipment inventory is well maintained
  • Manage cash float and point of sales system
  • Ensure correct chemical balance of pool and accurate water test readings are maintained as per Provincial regulations
  • Attend all scheduled hotel meetings
  • Develop and implement children programming
  • Effectively recruit for department and complete performance management
  • Design and implement all controls for rentals, classes, programs, etc.
  • Create and initiate yearly marketing plan
  • All other duties as assigned
