Business Development Manager

Pullman & Mercure King George Square is a vibrant 438 room twin towered hotel which acts as a sanctuary for leisure and business travelers. Located opposite King George Square, City Hall and ideally situated in the heart of Brisbane CBD the hotel has some of the largest conference spaces in Brisbane incorporating 2 ballrooms. The hotel also features the amazing and extremely popular venues of Goldfinch Restaurant and Street Cafe, Sixteen Antlers Rooftop Bar as well as KG Bar.

Job Description

 

Reporting to the Director of Sales & Marketing, we are currently seeking a Business Development Manager to join our dynamic team. The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving the growth of the hotel business by identifying new market opportunities, building strong relationships with clients and partners, and increasing revenue through strategic sales initiatives.

What is the role all about:

  • Responsible for securing new business and growing market share from existing accounts across Corporate, Groups, Sports and Entertainment.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Sales & Marketing a sales plan that includes proactive initiatives to achieve business objectives and budgeted profits for the hotel.
  • Proactively create a sales plan that includes proactive initiatives to achieve business objectives and budgeted profits for the hotel for Entertainment & Groups
  • Taking a proactive and innovative approach to acquiring new business.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitive landscape, and market developments to identify opportunities for growth
  • Represent the property at conferences, tradeshows, networking events, familiarisations, sales missions and on-site inspections
  • Prepare and present regular reports on sales activities and results to Director of Sales and Marketing
  • Work closely with the Sales & Marketing teams to ensure processes and productivity are continually improved to reach and exceed sales targets
  • Work with internal stakeholders to over-achieve on budgeted revenue.
  • Travel interstate to visit clients and attend tradeshows as required
