About the job

Based at Mandarin Oriental The Landmark, Hong Kong within F&B Service Department in Hong Kong, the Captain is responsible for assisting Supervisor / Manager on the day-to-day restaurant operation encompassing business level projection and promotional activities. Initiate training for every position to enhance the consistency in service and standards and to assist the manager to achieve departmental goals and total guest satisfaction. Captain reports to the &B Manager, Senior Assistant Manager, Assistant Manager.

As Captain, you will be responsible for the following duties:

• Conduct daily hygiene and cleaning checks in all areas of restaurant
• Prepare the Breakfast buffet / Lunch and High Tea table setting accordingly to the service procedure, standard and the reservations.
• The ability to organize and maintain the restaurant cleanliness including Sanitizer solution.
• Greet guests with name, eye contact and smile upon arrival and escort to the table.
• To be aware of and adhere to company policies and statutory requirements with regards to health and safety, sanitation, fire procedures and HACCP
• Assist in the overall supervision and control of the activities of the restaurant
• Assist in the control and request of necessary operating equipment and avoid loss and breakages
• Make suggestions to improve the efficiency of the operations that will benefit our colleagues
• Perform any other duties as required by your department head from time to time.

As Captain, we expect from you:

• Relevant experience in F&B or hotel industry
• Experience in Restaurant or sizeable hotels is an advantage
• Good time management, service-orientated and able to work independently
