Job Description

 

We are currently seeking a skilled and passionate Chef de Partie to join our culinary team at Sofitel Brisbane Central. As an experienced member of the kitchen team, you will play a significant role in supervising operational aspects of the kitchen and ensure food hygiene and safety procedures are followed.

  • Manage and coordinate activities within your assigned kitchen section
  • Ensure efficient workflow and seamless coordination with other kitchen areas
  • Maintain impeccable hygiene and kitchen standards in line with HACCP requirements
  • Prepare and cook dishes according to our menu specifications and quality standards
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, including apprentices and commis chefs
  • Assist in menu development and implementation of new food concepts
  • Participate in live cooking demonstrations and interact with customers when required
  • Collaborate with the sous chef and head chef to maintain kitchen efficiency
  • Monitor and control food waste, stock levels, and kitchen resources
  • Adapt quickly to changing priorities during busy service periods.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Completed culinary training or apprenticeship
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role
  • Proven track record of excellence in food preparation and presentation
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
  • Passion for international cuisine and new food concepts
  • Experience in live cooking and customer interaction
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Creativity and willingness to contribute to menu development
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items when necessary.
