Job Description

 

The Commis 3 – Pastry supports the pastry team in preparing and producing high-quality desserts, pastries, and bakery items. This is an entry-level position focused on learning, maintaining basic production tasks, and ensuring consistency in a fast-paced hotel kitchen environment.

  • Assist in the preparation of basic pastry items such as doughs, batters, creams, sauces, and garnishes.
  • Support Chef de Partie/Pastry Cook in the creation of desserts for buffets, à la carte, banquets, and room service.
  • Follow standard recipes, portion controls, and production schedules.
  • Help with baking, assembling, and finishing pastry products under supervision.
  • Ensure all pastry items meet hotel quality and presentation standards.
  • Maintain proper taste, texture, and appearance for all products prepared.
  • Properly store and label ingredients, baked goods, and semi-finished products.
  • Assist in daily mise-en-place preparation for pastry sections.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, equipment, and tools.
  • Follow HACCP and food safety standards at all times.
