Job Description

 

Are you passionate about the art of baking and ready to bring your creativity to a world-class kitchen? As a Demi Chef de Partie – Bakery at Fairmont Hotels, you’ll have the opportunity to craft fresh, high-quality baked goods that delight guests from around the globe. Working alongside a passionate and experienced culinary team, you’ll contribute to a dynamic bakery operation that serves everything from artisan breads to elegant pastries and custom event creations. This is your chance to develop your skills in a luxury environment that values craftsmanship, innovation, and excellence.

Position Type: Permanent
Pay Rate: $24.75/hour
Start Date: July 2025

Job Duties Include:

  • Prepare and bake a variety of bread and other baked goods.
  • Ensure the consistency, taste, and presentation of bakery items meets Fairmont’s brand standards
  • Monitor and maintain stock levels of ingredients, communicating needs to the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef
  • Follow proper storage procedures and rotation to minimize waste
  • Collaborate with the Pastry and Culinary teams on seasonal menus, banquet functions, and special requests
  • Provide training, support and performance feedback to junior culinary team members
  • Participate in daily briefings and kitchen meetings
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment in compliance with food safety standards

 

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bakery Red Seal or Journeyperson certificate an asset.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a bakery or pastry role in a luxury hotel or fine dining environment
  • Frequent standing, walking, lifting, and carrying up to 25 kg

You may be required to work on holidays, weekends, overnights and other non-day shifts. Submission of your application to Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise indicates that you are able to meet these requirements as needed.
