About the role:
The Engineering Manager is an integral part of the Engineering Team, who will handle preventative maintenance of all hotel equipment. They will possess the basic knowledge to diagnose and handle all repairs of equipment including motors, starters, breakers, chillers, and associated equipment throughout the entire building. In addition, they will have knowledge on repair and maintenance of electrical, plumbing, steam, gas, fire & safety, refrigeration & HVAC, kitchen equipment, painting & decorating.
What you will do:
-Be a part of the pre-opening team!
– Assist the Director of Engineering in all aspects of hotel and building maintenance including electrical, plumbing, steam, gas, fire & safety, HVAC refrigeration, interior, paint and decorating, and respond to inquiries and problems in an efficient, courteous and professional manner to achieve maximum customer satisfaction while complying with all Four Seasons’ policies.
– Oversee and manage engineering projects, while also ensuring the completion of all duties related to the residences, including maintenance, repairs, and coordination of resident requests.
-Assist in the hiring, training, supervision, scheduling, counseling, and evaluation of performance and planning the activities of maintenance staff including making spot checks on a daily basis.
-Ensure proper execution of work order/request system and that items are followed up on when necessary.
-Prepare requisitions for purchase and work orders and liaise effectively with the Director of Purchasing.
-Implement preventive maintenance schedules, policies and rules to ensure an efficient department.
-Maintain logs on movement of stock items and tools and monitor distribution of items.
-Ensure that meter readings are taken daily on heat, light and review information to evaluate consumption.
-Actively support the Safety Committee.
-Support the energy conservation program allowing the hotel to meet its annual budget targets.
-Maintain close working relations with hotel contractors who furnish reliable 24-hour emergency service.
-Assist with maintenance of all firefighting equipment in first class order and ensure that emergency procedures are understood and practiced by hotel staff.
What you bring:
-High school education or equivalent experience Trade school in mechanics, refrigeration, etc.
-2-5 years of related Engineering experience
-Previous Experience in a luxury Resort setting is preferred and trade education is a plus
-Previous experience managing an Engineering/Maintenance Team in a hospitality setting
-The ideal candidate will have knowledge of operation and maintenance of swimming pools and Jacuzzis
-Excellent communication skills
-Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
