About the job
Based at the Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo / within the Housekeeping Department in Tokyo, the Floor Supervisor is responsible for ensure the cleanliness of guest corridors, guest rooms and back of the house areas are of the highest calibre and meets the established standards. Supervisor should be responsible for the supervision of the room attendants on the floors and follow up with guest special requests.
The Floor Supervisor reports to Housekeeping Manager / Assistant Housekeeping Manager.
As Floor Supervisor, you will be responsible for the following duties:
• Adhere to the established standards of conduct and house rules, fire regulations and department procedures and policies.
• Report to shift on time in issued uniform in a clean, neat and tidy appearance at all times.
• Distribute master key to attendant and fill out the form
• Update SMS status VI room to VC
• Assign attendant on REX and make assignment then FL SPV check sheet
• Attend morning briefing with attendant at 9:50 and inter section briefing with runner, coordinator, public attendant, laundry attendant at 10:00
• Check the wash machine and records
• Order linen
• Inspect all vacant and occupied rooms to check standards of cleanliness, missing guest amenities and/or supplies. Find out any problems of the room attendants and follow up. Average 15minutes to inspect room (Vacant and Stay over rooms 35rooms as maximum)
• Mini bar check during the inspection
• Confirm the assignment, 10 to 15 assign changes happen daily. Provide information for all room attendants and new changes from the daily Housekeeping operation.
• Resolve the trace by HSK/d
• Ensure all departure rooms are checked and released promptly for re-let.
• Inspect all hotel rooms carefully ensuring that all special requests and amenities have been observed.
• Ensure all occupied and arrival rooms have performed turndown service after 17:00.
• Spot check room attendants and ensure that proper cleaning procedures and steps are taken at all times.
• Report DND and Pick Up rooms to Coordinator
• Follow up on all guest requests and provide prompt service in timely limited.
• Supervise all special projects, including mattress turning, renovations and general cleaning in the hotel.
• Provide on-the-job training and identify training needs.
• Evaluate room attendants’ performance appraisal as required.
