Food & Beverage Director

Mission:

Responsible for implementing the strategy, standards, attributes, and products, and for optimizing operational efficiency in the Bars and Restaurants area. Provides feedback to F&B Partners regarding needs and/or opportunities for improvement. 

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the operational vision for the creation of standards. They are involved in defining the strategy, standards, processes, and procedures.
    Implement projects, programs, and technological tools, ensuring the proper use of equipment, and defining and resolving any questions.
  • Identify and propose improvements, tools, or processes that optimize both your job position, operational efficiency, and agile performance.
  • Monitor compliance with established standards and objectives, informing the HM of any deviations for immediate correction.
  • Oversee operations, set guidelines, and monitor the most important or highest volume events.
  • Participate in the preparation of your department’s budget according to the established guidelines.

Requirements:

EDUCATION AND TRAINING: University degree and/or higher in Tourism. Training in Gastronomy/Culinary Arts and current training in trends in the area is highly valued.

LANGUAGES: Local language and Advanced English.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar position in hotels. International experience or experience in markets similar to the Dominican Republic, Cuba, Jamaica, and Mexico.

Specific Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of hotel operations in its different types of services.
  • Knowledge of food handling, hygiene and food safety.
  • Focus on results and economic objectives set by the company.
  • Proactivity for excellence and high capacity in planning and organization.
  • Knowledge in the use of economic management and analysis tools in the kitchen.
  • Knowledge in economic and team management.
  • Leadership and strong communication skills, as well as prior experience in team management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and tools related to the position.
  • Stay up to date on cooking trends and gastronomic innovation.
  • Ability to identify needs, initiate, monitor and develop projects.
  • Implementation of pilots, projects and strategies established at the company level.
  • Organization and planning in openings and rebrandings.
  • Implementation of new gastronomic concepts.
  • Detection and development of internal talent.
  • Organizational and development skills in team training.
