Key Responsibilities of an Income Auditor is to verify and reconcile all revenue centers as reported in the daily Income Journal
Reviewing and auditing various revenue streams, including rooms, food and beverage (F&B), banquets, and miscellaneous income, ensuring all transactions are recorded correctly and supported by appropriate documentation.
Reconciling front desk records, point-of-sale (POS) systems, credit card transactions, and cash receipts to ensure all daily settlements and revenue reports are in balance.
Preparing daily and monthly financial reports for management, including revenue reports, income journals, and analysis of financial statements.
Investigating any discrepancies or unusual transactions in revenue, rebates, folios, or guest accounts, and escalating issues to the Credit Manager or relevant departments for action.
Ensuring all financial activities, including collections and credit card transactions, adhere to hotel policies and procedures.
Following internal procedures to ensure compliance with tax obligations and internal audit recommendations and maintaining organized financial records.
Assisting with month-end closing processes, including preparing journal vouchers and reconciling control ledgers.
Conducting surprise checks on various hotel departments, such as rooms, F&B, and laundry, to ensure adherence to procedures and proper revenue recording.
Providing support and clear communication to other departments, especially the front desk, regarding exchange rates, night audit issues, and any other relevant financial matters.
