As an Irrigation Technician at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge Golf Resort you will have the opportunity to create lasting memories for our guests while they enjoy one of Canada’s top rated golf courses. We pride ourselves on superior golf course conditioning and playability.

What you will be doing:    

Reporting to the Golf Superintendent, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

• Consistently offer professional, engaging and friendly service for all guests
• Follow department policies, procedures and service standards
• Responsible for the operation and maintenance of all components of the golf course irrigation system
• Monitor soil moisture levels on all playing surfaces including greens, tees, fairways, and rough
• Troubleshoot and repair pipes, electrical components, valves and heads
• Embrace the Fairmont brand promise and luxury in your role and in all your interactions
• Other duties as assigned

Your experience and skills include: 

• Level 1 or 2 irrigation technologist certificate or comparable education required
• Working knowledge of basic electricity and hydraulics related to an irrigation system, including automatic valves, controllers, irrigation sprinklers required
• Working knowledge of various types of pumps and pumping systems required
• Understanding of turf grass science and the rules of golf required
• Valid Alberta Driver’s License required
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
• Highly responsible & reliable
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team with minimum supervision
• Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
