Junior Sous Chef Pastry

The primary focus of the role is to:

  • Support the Pastry Chef in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the pastry section.
  • Ensuring exceptional quality across all pastry production including afternoon tea, banqueting desserts, restaurant desserts, amenities, and specialty items.
  • Supervising all pastry mise en place, service, production planning, and training of junior team members.
  • Contribute to menu development, quality control, cost management, and upholding strict food safety standards.

What are we looking for?

  • High school diploma or equivalent; minimum 3 years’ pastry experience including supervisory exposure OR 2-year degree in Culinary Arts (Pastry preferred) with minimum 2 years’ pastry experience.
  • Strong pastry fundamentals across all techniques.
  • Creativity and innovation in modern pastry production.
  • Reliable, proactive, and effective under pressure.
  • Organised with strong time management skills.
  • Clear communication abilities.
  • Basic computer literacy.
