EXPLORE MARRIOTT – Office Coordinator for the Maintenance Department

Position summary

To perform administrative duties in the maintenance department, ensuring compliance with systems, Marriott processes and UK regulation.

CANDIDATE PROFILE 

Experience/Education:

  • Previous experience working within a Technical Services Department or similar environment preferred.
  • Administrative experience preferred.
  • Good level of English essential.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong Communication skills (verbal, listening, writing)
  • Pro-active and reliable
  • Positive demeanor
  • Able to work alone and within a team.
  • Computer skills required.
  • Technical knowledge to effectively support the technical services department.
  • Organized and ability to manage time and workload.

 

SPECIFIC TASKS

The following are specific responsibilities and contributions critical to the successful performance of the position:

  • Provide ongoing support to technical services department (TSD) team to drive and work towards common goals.
  • To support with any reasonable task that is assigned by the TSD leadership team.
  • Support with administrative tasks such as the processing of invoices, running monthly reports, inputting data, handling phone calls, obtaining quotes and calling contractors.
  • Prepare and review written documents accurately and completely.
  • Comply with all quality assurance standards.
  • Ensure compliance with both Marriott policies and UK regulation by keeping systems up to date and keeping paperwork organized and filed in a logical order.

Communication:

  • Speak to guests and co-workers using clear, appropriate, and professional language.
  • Answer telephones using appropriate etiquette including answering the phone within 3 rings, using the callers’ name, transferring calls to appropriate person/department, requesting permission before placing the caller on hold, taking, and relaying messages, and allowing the caller to end the call.
  • Prepare and review written documents (e.g., daily logs, business letters, memoranda, reports), including proofreading and editing written information to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Talk with and listen to other employees to effectively exchange information.
