The iconic Hotel del Coronado is looking for a Maintenance Engineer II (Painter)  to join the team!

Join one of the last surviving wooden Victorian beach resorts in the world and after a $400M renovation and expansion, the resort is more stunning than ever.    Located on Coronado Island just minutes from Downtown San Diego, this 28-acre property was built in 1888 and has over 750 rooms, cottages and villas with 65,000 square feet of banquet space, and 10 food and beverage outlets. This includes 4 restaurants, 2 bars, a food truck, marketplace, ice cream shop, and in-room dining.

• Shift: AM shift – Availability to work weekends and holidays required.
• Pay Rate starts at $30.82 per hour plus full-time benefits.

An Engineer II – Painter maintains and repairs painted, wall covered, stained and varnished surfaces of building structures, furniture and equipment throughout the facility in order to project a neat and well-maintained appearance.

What will I be doing?
The Engineer is responsible for maintaining the physical functionality and safety of the facility in the hotel’s continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

• Prepares and paints surfaces of building structures, furniture and equipment using proper Application techniques. Measures lengths of surfaces to determine quantity of paint needed. Plasters or spackles surfaces, mixes paint colors to match existing colors and applies paint to all building and equipment surfaces with brushes, rollers and spray guns.
• Installs and repairs covered wall and ceiling surfaces throughout the facility. Hangs vinyl, paper, fabric and foil wall coverings of various weights.
• Maintains and repairs caulked, grouted and masonry surfaces throughout the facility. Requires caulking, grouting, plastering and setting tiles, cinder block/brick and cement work.
• Assist with guest calls – Scope of work to include general maintenance duties.
