About the role

The Assistant Accounting Manager is responsible for assisting the Assistant Director of Residential operations & Finance in maintaining the general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations.

The Accounting structure may vary and responsibilities will be adapted as required.

What you will do

• Verify that all invoices are supported by duly approved purchase orders when required, signed receiving documentation and/or the approval of authorized management personnel.
• File documents and reports.
• Understand tax laws as it relates to sales tax, use tax, goods and services tax and year end processing ensuring compliance, submission and payment deadlines are met and ensure that all deductions and exemptions are properly documented.
• Assist the Assistant Director of Residential operations & Finance in Forecasting/Budgeting and assist the Department Heads in producing their annual labor budgets.
• Understand and possess a working knowledge of the Accounting & Finance Manual
• Print, prepare and mail invoices/statements for outstanding  accounts at least twice a month.
• Prepare and maintain complete, accurate and organized records for all outstanding accounts.
